Why Jesus Still Loves People Who Condemn Humanity...
A recent article in Rolling Stone:
Every night on Lady Gaga’s Monster Ball tour, the singer pauses to acknowledge her partnership with Virgin Mobile, which donates $20,000 per show to a charity that aids homeless LGBT youth. Gaga’s ongoing advocacy for gay rights made her the target of a protest in St. Louis this weekend, as her arena tour arrived at Missouri’s Scottrade...

Bullet Point Thought #3
God has no “need” of the glory we give, we bring nothing extra to him. His desire: that we reflect his prexisting, complete & eternal glory!
Bullet Point Thought #2
Until we truly see the value of God we cannot effectively pursue Him
Bullet Point Thought #1
until we understand what we stand to lose without God, we cannot appreciate all that we’ve gained in Him
Who?
gives gifts 1 Corinthians 12; Romans 12:6
counsels John 14:26
encourages Acts 9:31
steps in on our behalf Romans 8:23 ; Romans 8:27
leads us to obedience 2 Corinthians 3:5
reveals the truth 1 John 2:20, 27
This is the Holy Spirit, and this is who He is. During IMPACT last night, this is what we focused on. The question is: Do we recognize the fullness of who He is in our lives?

Advice on arguing the trivial points of our Faith
Simply: Don’t
because there’s a good chance it doesn’t even matter. As Christians the question we should always ask ourselves is: “is God getting the glory?” If our goal in arguing the merits of Calvinism verses [insert opposing theology here] isn’t to glorify God but rather to prove what we believe about our God (whom our goal is to glorify…) then you...

In Christ Alone
Philippians 3:3, 3:7-11
3 For we who worship by the Spirit of God are the ones who are truly circumcised. We rely on what Christ Jesus has done for us. We put no confidence in human effort,
7 I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done. 8 Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ...

The Truth About Us
there is something strange about christians. we like the idea of heaven. we like the idea of escaping judgement. we like to know we have been freed from death. But we do not like the idea of dying. we do not like to think about what it means to give up ourselves. we want something greater, but we want to exist outside of the the responsibility of having to give anything up to be a part of it. The...

I miss it...
Life has been busy… In pursuit of serving the Lord it is easy to loose sight
Of the Lord. I don’t need a vacation or anything … Just a moment to be still and worship Him in quietness.
Hopefully life will take a breather here soon and I’ll be able to write a real post or two! Got all this God stuff trapped up in my cranium! Heh. I said cranium. I’m funny.

if i was you and you were me
we might not hate or judge so quickly
but as it stands i am just a man
trapped inside my head
my eyes are mine, and i’m mostly blind
to anyone but me
if you’re not like me
and we don’t agree
just know that you are wrong and i am right
who set the rules for you and i
and why do we abide?

small
With all the horror going on in Haiti, I’m reminded how comfortable my life is here in America. God has been so gracious to our country, and I can’t even bring myself to think of the days I haven’t bothered to thank Him for his abundant blessing.
I don’t consider myself to be an overtly selfish person by nature. But, I have been confronted with the nature of being...
Double negative
It is totally within God’s character to ask us for everything. It is NOT in His character to ask us for nothing, or the equivalent of “nothing!”

Intimacy with Jesus
From My Utmost for His Highest: Fruit bearing is always mentioned as the manifestation of an intimate union with Jesus Christ (John 15:1-4)
The question is: am intimate with Jesus? Does the fruit I bear testify to this?
Abandon
I was reading “Forgotten God” last night, and Francis Chan made some observations about the character of God … He was saying how we should be looking at what we are hearing God ask from us. Basically he reminded us that it is totally within God’s character to ask us for everything! (Abraham comes to mind…) As I read this I was struck, and here’s why:
If I say I...
I get it!
You know how people are always asking "so where do you see yourself in five years?" or "what are your plans" or "what are your goals?" I never know how to answer ... But I today I finally know!
Everyone I know: where do you see yourself in five years
Me: Loving God and loving people. Living the life he's given me ready to go wherever he calls, ready to drop everything in a moments notice.
May our lives be lived not tied down to this earth, but with our eyes set on Christ, living everyday to know him more and glorify him always.

I’m giving you my heart, and all that is within I lay it all down for the sake of you my King I’m giving you my dreams, I’m laying down my rights I’m giving up my pride for the promise of new life And I surrender all to you, all to you I’m singing You this song, I’m waiting at the cross And all the world holds dear, I count it all as loss For the sake of...

Heb 12:10b-11

the Actual Jesus
studying 1 John has been enlightening! Its surprising how simple and how powerful John writes. I think it’s what distinguishes him from all other biblical author’s. He uses hook’s and redundant phraseology to drive his points home. This simplistic style is so accessible for all walks, yet so profound if you dig past the surface.
I was struck by his words on our fellowship with...
